Documents for Marriage between Domestic Citizens and Foreigners

A、 domestic citizens are required to have:

a、ID Card

b、Permanent Residence Booklet

c、A certificate issued by the town level of the People’s Government where the person resides. It may also be issued by the person’s work place with authority above the county level.. This certificate indicates the applicant’s name, sex, date and place of birth, nationality, marital status , rank of profession, the name of his or her fiancée or fiancé.

d、health certificate from the hospital designated by the marriage registration office.

B、Foreign nationals are required to have:

a、Passport, ID Card or National Certificate

b、Foreigners Residence Permit issued by the Public Security, or Citizenship Certificate issued by the Foreign Affairs Department, or temporary Residence Certificate.

a、 Marital Status Certificate approved by the Foreign Affairs Department and the notary organization by the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General in the person’s country, or the Embassy or Consulate General to PRC.



d、A health certificate from the hospital designated by the marriage registration office. A divorcee must have a divorce certificate and the widowed must have a death certificate of the ex-spouse.
